Daniel Farke urged Leeds United to avoid repeating mistakes of the past. In his last few press conferences, the Leeds boss has called out the club over their ambition.

Having been in charge since 2023, Farke has found it difficult in some years when the club has been held back from spending due to multiple reasons.

With his contract at Elland Road up next year, talks over an extension are expected this summer.

But the German coach has made his conditions clear – improve the team ahead of next season.

Leeds did a good job with recruitment last year, and signed many players who made an impact on the team. But it is not enough, they need more quality if they want to remain in the top flight next year.

Leeds United target ‘could be on the move’ this summer

According to Sky Sports, Harry Wilson is one of the players who could be on the move this summer. His contract at Fulham is set to expire next month, and there is no news about a renewal.

According to the report, Aston Villa and Everton seem to be very keen on the midfielder. European clubs are also keeping their eye on him.

Leeds United tried to sign the Welsh international last summer. A failed deadline day bid saw him slip through their hands, as Fulham pulled the plug.

Wilson stay in London, and performed exceptionally well despite missing out on a move – 11 goal and eight assists in all competitions.

In the middle of the season, reports emerged that a contract offer was on the table.

But with just days to go until his current deal expires, anything could happen.

Signing Harry Wilson would be a statement from the 49ers

Last summer, Leeds United invested in quality players from across Europe.

They aimed to bring in starting-calibre players who would not have a difficult time adjusting to the league. Jaka Bijol, Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all played their part in the campaign.

And going into next season, the 49ers need to improve upon what they have already done.

Leeds need goals and creativity from midfield, and Harry Wilson would be an excellent candidate for that – especially as he will be available on a free transfer.

You don’t often get a player of his quality available often, so the 49ers need to push to sign him before the season begins.
