Leeds United take on Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Sunday.
With Daniel Farke’s men reaching the 40-point mark in midweek with a dramatic late equaliser against Bournemouth, their Premier League status looks rather secure for next season.
The pressure of relegation is now seemingly off the shoulders of the United players, who can focus on the FA Cup, with Leeds just two games away from winning their first major trophy since 1992.
Opta’s supercomputer has had its say on the upcoming cup tie, with its prediction being one that will alarm supporters.
Supercomputer predicts Chelsea to end Leeds’ FA Cup dreams
Many notable pundits, such as Alan Shearer, are picking Leeds to progress to the final of the FA Cup, with Farke’s men being in exceptional form as of late.
The Whites are on a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions, compared to Chelsea, who have lost seven out of their last eight games in all competitions.
Despite this, Opta’s supercomputer still predicts Chelsea to book their place in the final of the FA Cup at the expense of their rivals, despite recently sacking their manager, Liam Rosenior.
- Chelsea are said to have a 45% chance of winning on Sunday
- Leeds’ chances of winning sit at 29%
- The chance of the game ending in a draw and going to extra time is 25%
If Opta are to be proven right, Chelsea will need to do something that they have failed to do on two occasions against Leeds this season, and that is beat them, with United taking four points from their rivals this season.

Noah Okafor could be a difference maker for Leeds at Wembley
As far as Leeds are concerned, Okafor’s purple patch has come at just the right time, with the Swiss winger being in excellent form as of late.
The 25-year-old has managed to put up eight goal contributions in his last eight appearances for Leeds, coming in the form of five goals and three assists.
If Okafor could have an impact similar to the one he had at Old Trafford, then Leeds’ chances of progressing to the final go up astronomically.
The big pitch at Wembley will afford Okafor plenty of space to stretch his legs and show his blistering pace, and hopefully for Leeds, he can run Chelsea’s defence ragged as they cause an upset.
