Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has confirmed that the club will try to bring in more players before the transfer window closes on September 1.

The Whites have signed four new players this summer, and all of them have put in impressive performances in pre-season and in the double-header against Nottingham Forest at the start of the campaign.

Tarik Muharemovic and James Trafford have added defensive steel and assurance between the sticks, respectively, and Harry Wilson has shown glimpses of his form from last season.

Nico Elvedi made his full debut in the win over Forest on Tuesday night and looked like a player whose experience at the top level will come in handy this season.

However, Leeds need more signings before the window closes and here are three players who could be joining the Whites in the next few days.

Michael Zetterer – Backup goalkeeper

The Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper has emerged as the top target for Leeds, who are keen to add a quality backup for James Trafford this summer. The two clubs have been in talks over a deal, and after some confusion, it seems Zetterer is expected to move to Elland Road this summer,

However, the transfer hinges on Lucas Perri leaving Leeds. Torino have an agreement in place with Leeds to sign the Brazilian on loan with an option to buy. But they are yet to execute the deal amid suggestions that the club are having second thoughts about signing the goalkeeper.

Once Perri leaves, Zetterer’s move to Leeds is expected to be confirmed before the window closes on September 1.

Jake O’Brien – Defender

Everton are ready to sell the defender, who can play across the backline and also serve as a full-back. Leeds are among the clubs who are interested in signing O’Brien before the transfer window closes.

The Toffees star can not only be one more centre-back option, but crucially offer another option in the full-back positions to Daniel Farke this summer.

With Everton keen to offload him, there is a real chance Leeds could get a deal done to take the defender to Elland Road before the transfer window closes next week.

Zian Flemming – Striker

Leeds are in desperate need of a striker as Dominic Calvert-Lewin is their only regular source of goals, and his injury record does not fill anyone with confidence.

Zian Flemming has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds all summer, and he is still available with just days left in the summer transfer window.

He scored 11 times in 21 Premier League starts last season for a Burnley side that suffered relegation. He is a proven goalscorer at this level and has started the season well in the Championship.

Burnley would want to hold on to the Dutchman, but this is one market opportunity Leeds should not miss out on before the transfer window closes.
