Leeds United have made a brilliant start to the season with two wins over Nottingham Forest away from home. But there is a lot of focus on their end of the transfer window.
The Whites still have a few gaps in their squad that need to be filled for Daniel Farke and the fans to feel confident about their prospects in the 2026/27 season.
The 49ershave done well to bring in four quality players this summer, who have not only improved the squad, but have taken the starting eleven to the next level.
However, Farke needs more help in the market, and he needs a few more players in key positions to feel that he has all the bases covered for the season.

Daniel Farke sends transfer message to the 49ers
The Leeds boss has admitted he has never got every player he wanted during a transfer window, but remains confident that more new faces will arrive before the September 1 deadline.
He insisted that a few key positions in his squad need fresh faces and stressed that Leeds must improve their squad as a long season will need a more robust selection.
Farke said after the win over Forest on Tuesday: “Not at all, because I mentioned before there was never a transfer window when I got all my wishes and all the players that I wanted. But carefully optimistic that we can also have a good ending to the window.
“I’m pleased with our signings so far, pleased with my group so far.
“But we know that there are definitely also a few positions where we can improve and have to improve our squad for a long season, and this is also what our supporters, what the club, what Leeds United deserves – that we try our best until the last second to give ourselves the best possible squad.”

What positions does Leeds need to strengthen?
Leeds have several areas of their squad that need more options for a long season, and Farke and the recruitment team are aware of it.
They still need a striker who is good enough to not only play alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin but be the leading man up front if and when the former Everton man is unavailable.
The Whites also need a backup goalkeeper as Lucas Perri is expected to leave, and Alex Cairns is not good enough to be the number 2 behind James Trafford.
Leeds are also in search of a backup left-back as Gabriel Gudmundsson’s injury issues are a big problem for the Whites.
Farke is also keen to bring in a left-sided forward, and possibly one more centre-back.
