Leeds United thought they had solved their goalkeeping problem from last season in the last summer window. The club spent big money on a new goalkeeper before this season.
The Whites signed Lucas Perri from Lyon for a huge fee – he was one of the most expensive signings made in that window.
When Perri arrived, there were a lot of expectations on his shoulders. And in the first few weeks, he looked like a very good option between the sticks. His injury cut short his start to the season.
Karl Darlow stepped in during the middle of the season and impressed. Perri took his spot back late last year, but a series of errors saw the Brazilian benched till the end of the season.
3 Premier League goalkeepers Leeds United could target as their new No.1
Darlow was in goal for the rest of the season, as Leeds United successfully navigated relegation.
Now, the goalkeeping situation at Elland Road has become a bit complicated. Karl Darlow is out of contract in the summer, and as things stand, no concrete offer has been made.
Farke mentioned that all the contract issues at Leeds United could be settled after the end of the season.
This summer could see three first team keeper leave Elland Road; Darlow, Cairns and Meslier. So the Whites could dip into the market for a new number one with next season around the corner.

Filip Jorgensen
According to BBC Sport, Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has made it clear that he wants to leave the club.
He made just 12 appearances last season, and is keen on getting playing time elsewhere. This would make him a great target for Leeds, as he will come in and compete straight away.
The 24-year old’s price tag could be an issue – Chelsea signed him for £20.7 million.
Mads Hermansen
West Ham beat Leeds 3-0 on the final day of the season, but were still relegated.
Mads Hermansen joined the London side in August, and became the first choice as the season went on. He kept seven clean sheets in 19 games for Nuno’s men.
The Hammers will be forced to offload players this summer, and Leeds could swoop in.
James Trafford
Leeds United tried to sign James Trafford before he eventually joined Manchester City. However, the England keeper’s season did not go the way he initially intended.
Gianluigi Donnarumma displaced him early in the campaign and he ended up becoming the cup keeper.
Trafford has already said his future at Manchester City is not straightforward, and a move to Leeds would be a great one.
He would immediately become the long-term number one at Elland Road.
