Leeds United boss Daniel Farke is making some bold decisions in the club’s pre-season training camp. The major one so far has involved Patrick Bamford.

Farke revealed that he had a long talk with the 31-year old before informing him that he was not part of his plans for next season. So Bamford may be set to leave in the coming weeks. One of the surprises however is how the Leeds boss handled the Jack Harrison situation. Farke said the winger could find himself in next season’s plans depending on his performance this summer.

According to Fabrice Hawkins, Leeds United have agreed a deal with Lyon over goalkeeper Lucas Perri. The Brazilian had been a huge target for the club in the past few weeks. Leeds also looked at Torino keeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, but the Serbian seems to have chosen a move to Napoli.

Hawkins reported that Perri will leave Lyon’s camp to fly to England to complete a medical.

An attacking midfielder is still on the radar

Graeme Bailey also revealed recently that the club still have their eye on Emi Buendia and Gustavo Hamer. An attacking midfielder is still a big part of Leeds’ plan this summer.

“They’re interested in Buendia and Hamer for the number 10 role too, I think they’re waiting for that one to unfold.

“As it stands with Buendia, the deal Villa want is not acceptable for Leeds, but I think that one will change.

“Obviously they’re working on a number nine as well, and I must admit I am surprised they didn’t push harder for Josh Sargeant if I’m honest.”

Bold decision

Lucas Perri would be a great addition to the squad, but some could argue that he is not much better than Illan Meslier. The Frenchman was dropped last season after errors in the run in.

Statistically, Perri is one of the worst keeper on the ball in Ligue 1 last year. And Daniel Farke’s style involves a lot of build up. His shot stopping is solid, so it might end up working out for Leeds United.
