Leeds United are still waiting to officially unveil Harry Wilson after agreeing a deal for the winger, while Pascal Struijk has already completed his move away from Elland Road. But elsewhere in the Premier League, their rivals are wasting no time strengthening their squads.

The Whites are working on several deals as they push to improve several areas of their squad. However, other clubs have also been making significant moves in the market.

Several clubs expected to be in and around Leeds next season are also pushing ahead with their recruitment, while a few former Whites players are attracting interest despite failing to make a lasting impact at Elland Road.

Arsenal remain keen on Illan Meslier, and another former Leeds player who struggled during his time at the club is now closing in on a return to the Premier League.

Brentford agree deal to sign Jaidon Anthony

Jaidon Anthony scored eight Premier League goals last season for a poor Burnley side that suffered relegation from the Premier League.

He has been expected to return to the Premier League ahead of the new season, as several teams have shown interest in signing him from Burnley.

Brentford have been in advanced talks with Burnely over a deal to sign Anthony this summer, and had at least one bid rejected by the Clarets.

They tabled a new bid for the winger last week, and according to Fabrizio Romano, an agreement is now in place for the winger to join Brentford this summer.

Brentford have agreed to pay a £17m fee plus another £3m in add-ons to secure a deal for the signature of the former Leeds winger in the ongoing window.

His representatives have already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract, and Anthony will soon travel to complete the formalities of the transfer.

He didn’t do well at Leeds, but has developed significantly in the last two seasons

Jaidon Anthony never established himself as more than a squad player during his loan spell at Elland Road, and Leeds United ultimately decided against making the move permanent.

Since then, though, the winger has kicked on at Burnley. He enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, scoring eight Premier League goals for a side that struggled for much of the year.

Brentford’s recruitment has earned widespread praise over the years, and if they are pushing to sign Anthony, it is fair to assume their interest is based on extensive scouting and a strong analytical assessment.

With Harry Wilson expected to arrive, Leeds are no longer desperately searching for another winger. Even so, Anthony would have represented a sensible option had the club chosen to look elsewhere.
