Huge worry for Leeds United as star man’s status for Plymouth game is revealed – could affect title race

Leeds United are on a roll, ever since the team broke their run of three draws with a win at the Riverside stadium, it has been uphill from there. The club have now recorded five straight wins, winning promotion along the way.

Monday night was a brilliant occasion for the fans and players alike. The club won their Premier League place last week, but did not have the opportunity to celebrate it. So the stage was set for the Bristol City game. The Robins also came into the match needing a win for their play-off race.

Daniel Farke’s men dispatched Liam Manning’s side, putting them to the sword with three goals in the second half. Leeds won 4-0 on the night, with the home crowd being able to celebrate their promotion properly.

Monday saw Dan James once again miss out of the matchday squad completely. The forward was expected to return last week, but a late decision saw Harry Gray make his first ever appearance for the club. James has been out since picking up a hamstring problem against Middlesbrough, and during the post-match press conference, his status for the Plymouth game was revealed:

”It’s something that always happen. Great scenes. We played without pressure. Ultimately we’ve got one more game to win.

”Slim chance I’m involved (vs Plymouth).” James said in the press conference (via Leeds Live).

He also praised the team for their achievements this season.

”There’s not been many Champ seasons where you have to get 100 pts to win the league. Tonight was about everyone, the fans, the manager.

”He had we’d be in the PL next season a few weeks ago and we are. It’s an unbelievable feeling.”

Leeds will be fine without Dan James for one game

There was some concern when James went off against Middlesbrough, but some players have stepped up in recent games. Leeds have scored 14 goals in five games.

And these goals have been pretty much spread across the team. Joel Piroe, Manor Solomon and last night, Largie Ramazani have all chipped in with the goals. Daniel Farke will be fine without Dan James against Plymouth.
