Leeds United now turn their attention to Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea after a 2-2 draw away at Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

A stoppage-time equaliser from Sean Longstaff rescued a point and took Leeds to the symbolic 40-point mark — often seen as enough to secure Premier League survival.

They’re not mathematically safe just yet, but it would take something extraordinary for the Whites to go down from here. With that in mind, focus is already shifting to Sunday’s semi-final.

Chelsea have added a fresh layer of intrigue by sacking Liam Rosenior on Wednesday, setting up a dramatic backdrop for the Wembley clash.

Ian Wright goes against Gary Neville, makes a big Leeds prediction against Chelsea

Daniel Farke still believes his Leeds side are the underdog despite Chelsea’s current form and the turmoil of losing another manager this week.

Gary Neville and the rest of The Overlap team made their predictions for the FA Cup semi-final between Leeds and Chelsea, and there was a sharp contrast.

While the former Manchester United defender predicted the 90 minutes would end in a 1-1 draw before a result in extra time or penalties at Wembley.

Ian Wright provided a sharp contrast and insisted that he is not going to sit on the fence for this one by going big for a Leeds win within 90 minutes against Chelsea.

“Not a draw [over 90 minutes]”, Wright said.

“We are going to go for Leeds.

“2-1 Leeds.”

The Whites should have the edge

Chelsea have struggled against Leeds this season, losing 3-1 at Elland Road late last year before being held to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in February.

Leeds, meanwhile, have made the most of those encounters, taking four points from a possible six against one of their traditional rivals.

That said, a Wembley semi-final is a very different test, and Chelsea may still have the edge when it comes to players experienced in handling high-pressure occasions.

Even so, those earlier results won’t be forgotten. Leeds will head into the game believing they can get the better of a Chelsea side that’s currently battling issues with form, confidence and fitness.

As things stand, Leeds are, somewhat unexpectedly, going into the FA Cup clash as favourites to beat the Blues.
