Leeds United took another step towards Premier League safety after a dramatic 2-2 draw at Bournemouth, with Sean Longstaff scoring a late equaliser in stoppage time.

The Whites came into the game with a bit more confidence following back-to-back wins, and with an FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea to look forward to on Sunday.

Even so, Daniel Farke named a strong side. For much of the game, it seemed Bournemouth had done enough to claim all three points, with Rayan looking like the match-winner for the hosts.

But Longstaff struck at the death to cap off a solid away display and earn Leeds a valuable point.

The late goal has ruffled feathers at Bournemouth. However, Jason Cundy has found one more season to get at Tottenham and Jamie O’Hara after the result.

Leeds pulled nine points clear of Tottenham in the Premier League table and further complicated matters for Roberto De Zerbi’s side in the survival race.

Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara resumed their banter on the talkSPORT Sports Bar, and the former didn’t leave an opportunity to mock Spurs and his colleague.

He insisted Leeds are safe, and one of Tottenham or West Ham will get relegated from the Premier League.

“I can understand why you might think Chelsea are doing well this season because Spurs are third bottom”, Cundy said.

“I would be more worried about Leeds, stretching their advantage over you.

“Leeds have stretched their legs, and they are over the hill and far away from Spurs now.

“It’s now looking like Tottenham and West Ham will fight it out for relegation.”

Wolves and Burnley are now confirmed to go back down to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Whites are safe and now have an FA Cup semi-final

Victories over Manchester United and Wolves had already eased the pressure, and this draw at Bournemouth takes Leeds another step closer to securing their Premier League status.

They remain nine points clear of the relegation zone, despite having played a game more than Tottenham, and it now looks highly likely they will be in the top flight again next season.

One more win should do it, and they will fancy their chances against an already relegated Burnley side at Elland Road on May 1, where survival could be confirmed.

Leeds put in a solid performance away from home and, in the end, deserved the point they took from Bournemouth.

Now, the focus shifts to the biggest match of their season, with Daniel Farke preparing his team for a trip to Wembley to take on Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
