Leeds boss Daniel Farke was pleased with his side being able to get a result away from home at the Vitality stadium. Andoni Iraola’s winning run was halted when the Whites visited on Wednesday night.

Farke went full strength with his team selection, even with fans complaining about the FA Cup semi-final over the weekend. But the risk paid off; Leeds managed to stay in the game even with Bournemouth dominating most periods.

40 points all but confirms another season in the top flight for the Whites, and Farke shared his thoughts on that. ”I’m confident [we are safe]. Will only celebrate when its mathematically game. In a good shape. Why should we lose the final four games? Today was about fight and resilience. Could feel the stadium wanted to win for Andoni. Was reminded today of the reverse fixture. Many compliments for Bournemouth. Proud of my performance.”

Leeds fans will be furious after what Tyler Adams did in Bournemouth game

The game between both sides was keenly contested, even with Bournemouth being the better side in the first half. But they failed to capitalize on their chances. Eli Kroupi gave the Cherries the lead 15 minutes into the second half, pouncing on a defensive error. Wilfried Gnonto came on and made an immediate impact as he saw his effort in the back of the net, going in off James Hill for an own goal.

Bournemouth then managed a second goal to take the lead, with Tyler Adams setting up Rayan for what looked like the winner. Adams, who was a former Leeds player, decided to rile up the crowd during the goal celebrations. He put his hand up to the ear in front of the away fans, after he was booed with every touch of the ball during the game. Leeds eventually got the last laugh as Sean Longstaff came off the bench to score a late equalizer.

Whites have shown fighting spirit these past few games

When Leeds returned from the international break, things were not looking great. West Ham and Forest picked up results before Farke’s men played Manchester United and the pressure was on. The Whites delivered that Monday night, putting in one of their best performances this season in a stunning win at Old Trafford. After failing to score in their last four league games, they scored five in their next two, with a 3-0 win over Wolves at home. And on Wednesday night, they came from behind twice to take a point that will seal their survival. The fighting spirit the players have shown over the last few weeks will be key when they face Chelsea at Wembley this weekend.
