Leeds United continued their strong start to the season with another victory over Nottingham Forest, beating them 2-0 at the City Ground to book their place in the third round of the EFL Cup.
Dan James broke the deadlock shortly after half-time before James Justin added a second to put the game beyond Forest and send Daniel Farke’s side comfortably through.
It was Leeds’ second win over Forest in just three days, following their 1-0 victory at the same ground in Saturday’s Premier League opener.
Farke will be delighted with the way his team have started the campaign. Leeds can now turn their attention to Sunday’s meeting with Brentford at Elland Road as they look to keep that early momentum going.

Keith Andrews on his team selection ahead of the Leeds clash
Brentford have made an equally emphatic start to the season as Leeds. They hammered Tottenham 3-0 at home at the weekend before thrashing Birmingham City 6-1 in the cup on Tuesday night.
Andrews made eight changes to his team from the Spurs win, but still his side produced a commanding performance against the Blues.
The Brentford boss admitted he has a selection dilemma on his hands ahead of Sunday’s trip to Elland Road to face Leeds.
However, he was not worried about it on Tuesday night and will prepare for the trip to Yorkshire in due course of time this week.
Andrews said after the EFL Cup win, when asked about a selection headache ahead of the Leeds clash: “Exactly that; it’s the right kind of headache.
“I won’t worry too much about that tonight. I will enjoy the drive back down and watch the game back.
“We will go on to Leeds tomorrow.”

Leeds have a tough first home game of the season
Brentford shocked many when they defied expectations under Keith Andrews and finished ninth in the Premier League table last season.
Many were expecting the penny to drop this season, but Brentford’s star suggests that they are going to have another solid campaign.
They smashed this summer’s big spenders, Tottenham, at the weekend and didn’t let off by hammering Birmingham City in the cup.
Leeds at Elland Road are no pushovers, but the Whites could not have expected a tougher start to their home campaign than an in-form Brentford side.
Daniel Farke’s side are tough to beat at Elland Road, but they won’t find it easy to get a result against the Bees.
