Leeds United will be hoping to get another result this weekend when they come up against Sunderland. Their last game ended in a draw against Man United.

Fans were frustrated that the team could not pick up the win, considering that they were favourites for the tie.

They had lost just one game coming into the Man United game, with their rivals winless in their last five matches.

But Michael Carrick’s side managed to survive Elland Road and took a point away from home. Jason Cundy defended Michael Carrick saying that the Red Devils needed to avoid defeat against their bitter rivals.

Farke’s men will be hoping to continue their impressive start to the season when they come up against Sunderland this weekend.

The Whites have not had the best of records up against Regis Le Bris’ side; Leeds have won just one game against Sunderland since 2018.

The Black Cats have not had a great start to the year in the Premier League; they have just four points from seven games. They have just one win all season, which will give Leeds fans hope that they can pull off a result at the Stadium of Light.

The Premier League have announced that Stuart Attwell will be in charge of Sunday’s clash.

Leeds fans will remember their defeat to Sunderland earlier this year where Attwell was the referee. He gave a penalty for a handball by Ethan Ampadu following VAR calling him to the monitor.

That was the only goal of the game, which cost Daniel Farke’s side three points.

In that same game, Joe Rodon’s header was ruled out for offside and all the officials on the pitch seemed to miss a foul on Pascal Struijk which the Premier League Key Match Incidents panel voted in favour of a penalty being given for that foul.

Leeds must not drop the ball again

Going away from home to the Stadium of Light is not easy. Despite Sunderland being woefully out of form, they have given teams a tough time there.

But Leeds are rightfully the favourites for this fixture and need to get a result.

The last game which saw Farke’s men tipped to win ended in a disappointing draw at Elland Road.

Fans will hope this is not the case ahead of Sunday’s game.
