Leeds United fans will be very disappointed that the White could not get a win at Elland Road on Sunday. Before the game, everything was going in Leeds’ favour.

Man United were in poor form and were winless in their last five games.

Their defeat in the Champions League just days prior, sparked conversations about the quality of the team and the manager.

All was set for Leeds to bounce back from their narrow defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates. Despite losing, they played well and could have gotten a better result on another day.

Both sides took a point from Elland Road after Dominic Calvert-Lewin cancelled out Bryan Mbeumo’s opener in the first half of the game.

Leeds United were criticized for not getting the win as they were favourites. Michael Carrick ad the Man United team continue to be on the end of criticism as they look for their first win in six games.

After the match, Carrick said he was pleased with how the team went about it.

His words did not go down well with people around Old Trafford. But Jason Cundy has said on talkSPORT Sports Bar that Carrick and Man United were right for their approach to the game and avoiding defeat at Elland Road.

Jamie O’Hara said: ”To be honest, I thought they were gonna get beat so a point away from home is not bad result.”

Jason Cundy added: ”Yeah a draw is a fair result, they gave a good account of themselves. Leeds had enough chances to get back in it.”

He then went on to defend Carrick for getting a point away from home ahead of a difficult game against Bourmeoth.

”I agree with Carrick there, don’t get beat and the next game they’ve got is a home to Bournemouth. It is a game that Man United now should go and win.”

”It’s a tough place Leeds, it is. It is a really tough place to go, especially that game. To go there and go and beat Leeds with the way both sides are going, I think most Man United fans will take that.”

”What they won’t take is not beating Bournemouth [next weekend].”

Leeds should be disappointed after not getting a win

Cundy is right, the draw at Elland Road benefits Man United out of the two teams that faced off. Carrick’s side avoid defeat, which takes a bit of pressure off ahead of their next league game.

Leeds on the other had had little to no excuse not to get three points.

They were favourites before the match even began, and were the team in better form. On the day, the Whites created enough chances to win the game, but the players were not decisive in front of goal.

This has bee a issue for the team since the start of the season, and has already cost them points in crucial games.
