Leeds United could have another attacking target on their radar as Daniel Farke looks to add firepower in the Premier League.

The Whites have previously been linked with a young forward who is attracting attention across Europe. With the January transfer window approaching, Leeds will want to assess whether he could realistically strengthen their attack.

Their recruitment team has plenty to consider, particularly as competition for promising strikers intensifies, and the demands of a Premier League campaign leave little room for complacency.

Leeds send scouts to watch Tresoldi in Champions League action

According to Belgian daily HLN, Leeds are among the clubs expected to send scouts to watch Club Brugge take on Lens in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The player attracting their attention is Nicolò Tresoldi, who has previously been linked with a move to Elland Road. The 22-year-old has enjoyed an impressive spell at Brugge, and his performances have put him firmly on the radar of clubs looking for a young striker with room to develop.

Tresolid made a significant impression in Europe last week, scoring a hat-trick in Brugge’s shock 4-3 Champions League victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro.

That performance has done his reputation no harm, and Wednesday’s fixture offers another chance for interested clubs to assess him against strong opposition. Leeds are unlikely to be the only side keeping tabs on his progress, so any potential move could face considerable competition.

The scouting report doesn’t necessarily mean Leeds are preparing a bid, but their continued interest suggests Tresoldi remains worth monitoring.

Other Premier League teams mentioned as having scouts present midweek include Everton, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Why Leeds could need another striker

Dominic Calvert-Lewin plays an important role for Farke, but Leeds cannot afford to be short of options up front over a long season. Injuries, suspensions and dips in form can quickly expose a lack of depth, particularly when goals are hard to come by.

Adding another centre-forward would give the manager greater flexibility and provide genuine competition for places. Ideally, Leeds would bring in someone who can contribute immediately while still having the potential to improve over the coming years.

Tresoldi fits that profile on paper. His recent scoring record and Champions League performances make him an intriguing option, though adapting to the pace and physical demands of English football would be another challenge.

There is also the question of price. A young striker attracting attention from several clubs is unlikely to come cheaply, especially after making an impression on the European stage.

Leeds still have plenty to assess before any move becomes realistic. But if Farke wants another forward to strengthen his options, Tresoldi could remain firmly on the club’s radar.
