Leeds United return to league action this week as they face Burnley on Friday night. The Whites are on 40 points and are six points clear of Spurs, who are in the bottom three.
Many people around the club have said that Leeds are safe this season, but Daniel Farke is adamant that the job is not done. Leeds will be hoping to bounce back from the disappointing loss to Chelsea at Wembley. Farke’s men lost by one goal, and could have gotten something out of the game on Sunday. Now, they turn their attention back to the Premier League.
talkSPORT pundit gives Leeds relegation warning
With a result against Burnley, the Whites can clinch their place in the top flight for another season. The Clarets have already been relegated, and news has emerged about Scott Parker’s future this week.
Martin Keown has said on talkSPORT that none of the clubs above Burnley are safe from relegation yet with four games to go. He says Leeds may even be in danger if they slip up.
“No one’s safe, you go from game to game, three of them have away games, Forest are away at Chelsea, then Brentford away for West Ham, Villa away for Spurs, there’s no easy games in there. Leeds can put it out of sight and climb away; they’ve got a home game coming up, and then they play Spurs, so you go from game to game, but Leeds can climb away.”
Simon Jordan then replied Keown, saying that another result from the Whites will be enough to guarantee safety.
“I think Forest and Leeds are going to get more points somewhere else, they’re not going to get loads of points but they might get a couple more each and all of a sudden, that’s 41 points and 43 points respectively, I think 39 points is going to get you relegated, so beyond that you’re in a situation where both sides will achieve that or have achieved that already.”

Leeds must now show complacency against Burnley
Things are not going well over at Turf Moor, the club have been officially relegated and their manager’s future is in the balance. Going into Friday night, it looks like the players will not have much to play for. But this was the exact same position Chelsea were in before they pulled off the result at Wembley on Sunday. So the Whites must not be complacent at Elland Road, they have to win convincingly and book their place in the league next season. Farke must be aware that the last side he faced Burnley, they managed a shock win at Turf Moore.
