Leeds United remain well placed to secure Premier League survival despite the setback of their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.
A tight 1–0 loss at Wembley Stadium brought an end to Leeds’ hopes of reaching their first FA Cup final in more than five decades, with Chelsea just doing enough to get over the line.
After the game, Ethan Ampadu admitted Leeds didn’t do enough in the first half and accepted that the result at Wembley was fair.

Still, there’s little time to dwell on it. Leeds haven’t secured safety mathematically yet and will be focused on picking up a crucial home win against Burnley on Friday night, especially in light of recent results near the bottom of the table.
Leeds will also face Tottenham, which Jamie Carragher believes is a must-win for Spurs, and even Jamie O’Hara wants the Whites to have a terrible day in north London next month.
Jamie O’Hara is involved in a war of words with a Leeds fan
A lot will be riding on the game when Leeds take on Tottenham away from home next month. A win on Friday night could more or less seal Premier League survival for the Whites, but Spurs are still in real danger of going down.
Their home form this season has been nothing short of atrocious, but Tottenham may have to beat Leeds in north London to keep their Premier League survival hopes alive.
A Leeds fan called into Monday night’s talkSPORT Sports Bar and mocked O’Hara by insisting that the Whites will have fun at Tottenham next month.
However, the former Spurs stressed that he hopes Leeds and their fans face the music when they come to north London, as he is tired of teams enjoying themselves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season.
O’Hara responded to a Leeds fan on talkSPORT and said, “I don’t want you to come down and have fun at our ground.
“Every team have done that this season.
“I want you to have the worst day ever.”
Tottenham hope to face a Leeds side with guaranteed Premier League survival
Tottenham Hotspur saw their injury concerns deepen over the weekend, with Xavi Simons suffering a knee injury that’s expected to sideline him until the end of the year.
The clash with Leeds United is shaping up to be a must-win for Spurs when the Whites head to north London. However, Tottenham will hope to face a Leeds side that has already secured Premier League safety by then.
If Leeds beat Burnley at Elland Road on Friday night, it would almost certainly put them beyond Spurs’ reach in the table.
Ideally, Spurs would prefer to come up against a team with little left to play for, rather than a Leeds side still needing points when they meet in north London.
