Leeds United had major targets at the start of the transfer window and hoped to close those deals. However before the team made the trip to the US, they had yet to complete key moves.
The Whites have only managed to sign Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic this summer.
Their other targets are either still in talks or have failed to advance. Leeds are pushing to sign James Trafford from Manchester City as their new long-term number one goalkeepers.
The transfer could be sealed in the next week.
Fans are eager for that move to go through following the disappointment after missing out on Julian Brandt. The German midfielder chose to move to Ajax over Elland Road.
Tony Dorigo praises Leeds United for Shea Charles transfer stance
On Tuesday night, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Fulham are in talks over a move for Shea Charles.
Charles was a major Leeds United target at the start of the window, and the club had high hopes for him. However after three rejected bids, the Whites decided to leave their last offer on the table.
Now, Fulham could swoop in and seal a deal for the Northern Ireland international.
Leeds icon Tony Dorigo believes that the club was right to walk away from Southampton’s valuation of the midfielder.
“Clearly a few bids have gone but I think the club have shown – the recruitment team have shown – they’ll have a value for a player and quite simply they won’t go above that.” he told The Yorkshire Post.
“They know how much they’ve got to spend, they know the gaps they want to fill, how much each position they can go up to with their bids. I’m impressed – I think it’s the right way to go about things.
“The market is a crazy one, a difficult one. When you’ve got Morgan Rogers going [to Chelsea] for £117m, there’s a knock-on effect for every single player. It’s difficult to find that value.
“It is the right thing because they’ll probably want to put funds elsewhere to really improve the squad. No doubt Shea Charles is a really promising player, but we shouldn’t be just dancing to Southampton’s tune. We should be responsibly dancing to our own tune. That’s exactly what the club are doing.”

Leeds have something planned after transfer setback
Even though a deal for Shea Charles has not been officially confirmed, it looks likely that Leeds will miss out.
However, this is not the first time the club have missed out on major targets. Just last summer, the Whites failed to sign the likes of Rodrigo Muniz, Bilal El Khannouss and even Harry Wilson.
But things still worked out as the club landed good enough signings to survive the Premier League.
Graham Smyth has already said that Leeds are working on a long list of targets and alternatives, so fans should not be frustrated over this setback.
