Last season, Leeds United signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha on free transfers. The fans were sceptical of the signings when they happened in the transfer window.
Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha’s injury histories looked like a problem initially, but it all worked out.
The two strikers ended up as the top scorers for the club in all competitions last season. So in the end, the 49ers were ultimately right for making those signings in the first place.
Leeds have landed Harry Wilson as their first signing this summer.
They tried to sign him from Fulham last season, but they pulled the plug on deadline day. He has now arrived at Elland Road on a free transfer, and will be a great addition to the attack.
Leeds United miss out on free agent as medical is underway
Leeds United have also signed center back Tarik Muharemovic and are close to landing Manchester City keeper James Trafford.
The 49ers are also in the market for other targets, including Southampton midfielder Shea Charles. Three bids have been rejected by the Saints, and now the Whites have left their last offer on the table.
Leeds are also interest in another free agent this summer; Julian Brandt.
An offer has been sent to the German attacking midfielder, who scored 11 goals in all competitions last season. Brandt is yet to officially make his decision as he weighs offers from other clubs.

One player Leeds United have definitely missed out on is John Stones.
The BBC reported that Leeds were a possible destination for the England defender during the World Cup. But the 32-year old has chosen a move to Italy, with Inter Milan.
Journalist Marco Conteiro has posted photos of the defender arriving for his medicals with the Serie A side.
