News from Elland Road this week has suggested that there are questions over Joel Piroe heading into next season. Leeds United have been linked with some targets this week, further increasing transfer speculations.
Reports claim that people behind the scenes at Leeds do not believe Joel Piroe will be good enough for the Premier League. So, the club will not really depend on him as their first choice heading into the season. This has heavily implied that a new striker will arrive at Elland Road this summer.
Multiple names have been linked over the past few weeks including Cameron Archer and Troy Parrott. Leeds are reportedly exploring a move for the Tottenham Hotspur star.

Leicester City star Jamie Vardy has also been heavily linked with a move to the Whites. The 38-year old will be a free agent this summer, when his current deal with the club expires. Reports claim that he is looking for a move to a Premier League club, as he believes he can still play at the highest level.
Vardy’s agents are already pushing for a move, contacting multiple clubs. Graeme Bailey revealed that Leeds United are among those clubs to have held talks with the striker’s camp:
“His people are doing an awful lot of work and Leeds are one of the clubs who have been contacted. But I come back to it, is he better than what you’ve got? He’s not. Don’t see it,” Bailey said to Leeds United news.
“He might want to play in the Premier League but I think he will end up in the Championship – I think he will end up back at Sheffield Wednesday,”
Jamie Vardy could help with the striking problem
Leeds will go into next season with Joel Piroe as first choice striker. His backups will include Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph. Bamford has looked past his best over the last year, and Daniel Farke has shown he will not depend on him. Mateo Joseph made 20 appearances this season, and has failed to start a single league game.
It is becoming quite clear now that Leeds will be in the market for a first choice striker. A short term move for Jamie Vardy could be exactly what they need. The veteran scored eight goals in 33 games this season.
