Leeds United had some very positive news heading into this weekend’s game. Daniel Farke confirmed that two first team stars could return to action against West Ham.
The Whites have been without a couple of players over the last few weeks. Jayden Bogle, Noah Okafor and Gabriel Gudmundsson have been absent for the last two games.
Despite that, Farke’s men have been on a solid run of games. The team still remain unbeaten in the league since returning from the international break.
Leeds play West Ham on the final game of the weekend. But there is some good news, as Pascal Struijk is back in training after his last hip problem. He missed the last game, but is now in training.
Jayden Bogle back is also in training, and could in contention for Sunday’s game.
Leeds United dealt major blow ahead of West Ham clash
Ilia Gruev also remains out for the season, and Gabriel Gudmundsson remains out alongside Noah Okafor. Anton Stach’s injury last weekend means that he will miss the final game of the season.
It was confirmed by Graham Smyth midweek that he will be out for two to three weeks.
Unfortunately for Farke, ahead of this weekend the team has received another huge blow. Sean Longstaff is out for the season after undergoing hernia surgery.
”Sean Longstaff is out, had hernia surgery on Wednesday. Bit tricky but we try to find good solutions.” Farke said in Friday’s press conference.

Sean Longstaff’s season was cut short
Daniel Farke reportedly wanted midfield additions who could keep up with the intensity of the Premier League. So Leeds United signed Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff.
The two adapted quickly and became starters early in the season, moving Ao Tanaka and Ilia Gruev down the pecking order. While Stach’s performance have been lauded this season, Sean Longstaff’s early start to his career was also impressive.
He chipped in with important goal contributions and provided legs in midfield. The former Newcastle man managed three goals and two assists in all competitions this season.
His injury around the middle of the campaign meant that he could not build on his incredible start. Ilia Gruev then took his place in the team and became favoured under Daniel Farke.
Longstaff was unlucky that in the final stretch of the season, Ao Tanaka was unplayable and won his place back in the team.
