Leeds United were tipped to be one of the teams to be relegated before a ball was kicked this season. Daniel Farke’s side started the season off well before dipping near November.
The whites looked like they were in trouble, but near the end of the year, they defied the odds and turned things around. Farke found a new shape for the team and refined his team selection. This improved the team’s results as they went on an incredible unbeaten run.
They entered the new year with their great form and that pushed them up the table ahead of the business end of the season.
The Whites rallied over the last month, going on an incredible six game unbeaten run as they clinched another season in the top flight.
Pep Guardiola praises Leeds United after Premier League success
Manchester City will face Crystal Palace on Wednesday night. Pep Guardiola’s side still have hope in the title race and will be hoping to get a win to stay in contention till the final days of the season.
Pep Guardiola has warned that facing teams who are safe in the league in the final days of the season is never easy.
In his words ahead of the game, he praised a lot of teams including Leeds United, for being professional at this point of the season.
“They are so professional. Crystal Palace will play top against us.” he told Sky Sports.
“We saw Leeds against Spurs yesterday, how they are now out of the relegation battle, but how they compete.
“We’ve played here against Aston Villa and West Ham in the past when they had nothing to play for and saw how difficult it was.
“So I ‘m pretty sure they will do their best even though they have a final a few days later.
“They have always been tough games. The quality is there.”

Daniel Farke has done a great job with the team
Leeds still fighting to win against Spurs shows the incredible work Farke has done with this side. Noah Okafor mentioned recently that during the club’s unbeaten run, their only focus was getting their results and not looking at any other team.
This has served Leeds well throughout the season and is why the team has shown fighting spirit no matter the opponent they face. If the 49ers can get the right improvements to this team, they can have a much better season in the Premier League next year.
