Leeds United have kicked their summer plans into gear following news this week. It was always expected that this team would have a busy summer ahead of next season.
Securing another year in the top flight was tricky, but it will be even difficult next season.
Daniel Farke has already warned the club about being ambitious, as the time draws closer for his contract talks.
Leeds agreed a deal with Harry Wilson this week; the midfielder will leave Fulham and join the Whites as a free agent when his contract expires next week. A medical is set after contract terms were agreed.
Farke will now have the midfield profile he has been pursuing for a few seasons.
Wilson had 11 goals and eight assists last season, and will be quality addition to this Leeds side that lacked a cutting edge last season.
Leeds United will have to wait for World Cup star
Leeds United have also had their eye on the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.
A few stars have been linked with a move to Elland Road since the tournament began; including Zion Suzuki, Ayase Ueda and Ousmane Diomande.
The latest name is Nico Elvedi, the Swiss international has been linked after reports from England. It is believed that Gladbach are unwilling to take offers around £7 million, which Leeds are said to be offering.
Per Rheinische Post on Friday, it has been revealed that there has been no official offer from the Whites.
The report also adds that Gladbach want a fee above £10 million for the 29-year old, whose contract expires in 2027. Elvedi and his club will hold talks over his future after the World Cup.
There is belief that the defender is keen to leave, but Gladbach want a ”good” fee to allow him to leave.

Leeds anticipated this
In the final weeks of the season, reports emerged about the Whites’ plans for this summer.
It clearly stated that Leeds were aware that any potential transfer deals would have to wait until after the World Cup. This is because clubs would be hoping their players increase the value during the tournament.
And that is the exact scenario playing out at Gladbach.
Elvedi would be a solid addition to the backline, but the club must be cautious. If the German side do ask for too much, then the only option is to walk away and focus on other targets.
Elvedi looks good big and strong👍
