Leeds United star on course for Elland Road exit as MLS club circle

Daniel Farke made some difficult decisions on the Leeds United first team squad last summer. After winning promotion to the Premier League, such difficult choices were expected.

Big calls like telling Patrick Bamford he was not in the plans for the upcoming campaign did not go down well. Bamford eventually left the club after terminating his deal.

The Whites were able to move some players, with Farke’s green light. The likes of Mateo Joseph, Largie Ramazani and Max Wober were sent out on loan deals.

Arguably one of the most controversial decisions that summer was bringing back Jack Harrison.

The winger had spent the last two seasons out on loan, and was heavily linked with an exit. After Everton passed on signing him, Farke made the call for him to return to the squad for pre-season.

The decision annoyed many Leeds United fans, especially with what Harrison said when he left the club on loan when he was relegated.

Jack Harrison did not play much in the first half of the season, and was limited to minutes off the bench. He also played in cup games, as Farke did not trust him to start.

In January, a surprise move came about when Fiorentina signed the winger on loan.

Farke mentioned that it was Harrison who pushed to leave for playing time. The 49ers included a buy option in his deal, but after a poor spell in Italy, the Serie A side declined to buy him.

The door has opened for the 29-year old to leave Elland Road this summer. Per The Blazing Musket, MLS side New England Revolution are keen on signing the winger.

Daniel Farke made a mistake with Harrison recall

Now that the season is over, everyone at Elland Road can admit that bringing Jack Harrison back was a rather bad decision.

The idea was to have someone with some Premier League experience in the squad, but that backfired in the middle of the season. But in hindsight, he was not good enough to be a squad player in the team.

The player just did not want to be at the club, and pushed to leave with the first opportunity that came around in January.

It was really disappointing to see how all those involved got this one wrong, and now they have to clean up their mess this summer.
