Not every player that signs for Leeds United will be a success; even with that, the club have seen their fair share of great signings. The past few seasons have seen great additions in the transfer windows.
When the Whites lost Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter in one window, things looked bleak.
All this came after the club cruelly lost the Championship play-off final to Southampton, leaving them in the Championship for another season. Not many tipped them to win promotion.
But despite that, the club brought in reinforcements that were key to their league title win.
Players like Manor Solomon and Ao Tanaka made their mark and helped the club reach the top flight.
Leeds United flop set for move to Champions League side
Leeds United have also had ridiculously bad transfers over the years.
The club recently offloaded Max Wober and Isaac Schmidt. Wober was a big singing back in 2023, expected to help take the team to the next level but he ended up always injured and was released after 12 games in two seasons.
Schmidt was also shipped off after failing to impress under Farke.
Another fullback who was signed to be the club’s solution at left back was Djed Spence. The player joined the Whites on loan back in the 2023/24 season from Spurs.
He only ever ended up playing a total of seven games before his loan was terminated in January.
Spence reportedly had attitude issues, and never saw eye-to-eye with Daniel Farke during his short spell at Elland Road.
Since then, the defender’s career has progressed well. He went on to become a key piece of the Premier League side and earned his first England cap last year.
His key performances for the Three Lions at the 2026 World Cup has helped earn him a move to Serie A side Inter Milan. Sky Sports have confirmed that the 26-year old will join the Italian club for around £30 million.

Fans need to understand that not every signing will be a success
Even with the 49ers having revamped recruitment at Elland Road, there have still been some disappointing moves.
Regardless of how good your signings are, it is inevitable that some will end up as ‘flops’.
Leeds fans need to understand this as the club gets closer to their goal of being a consistent Premier League side. Due to the level of intensity in the top flight, not every player will adapt or succeed.
This means that time has to be given to some new signings in the future.
