There are just a few days to go to the end of the transfer window, and Leeds United have yet to wrap up their business. The Whites have only completed one deal since the window opened.
Facundo Buonanotte arrived on loan till the end of the season; which made a lot of sense after Jack Harrison left the club on loan. Leeds also had a bid rejected for Jorgen Strand Larsen. The 49ers planned on adding some quality to the attack for the rest of the season; this campaign has shown that the club needs players who can find the back of the net.
Many fans were sceptical that the club would make any major moves in the transfer window at all, after what happened last year. But it seems this time around, the ownership are intent on keeping the club in the Premier League next season.
Leeds United eye move for Oh Hyeon-gyu
The Whites have already had a major miss in this January transfer window, the 49ers did a great job adding some quality to the team. But the more important position still needs filling. Leeds United are all but out of the race for Jorgen Strand Larsen, with Crystal Palace in the driver’s seat in the past few days. Adding some firepower was the plan in this window, but now it looks like the option is off the table.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Leeds United are keeping an eye on Genk striker Oh Hyeon-gyu. The 24-year old striker is attracting teams in England, with Fulham one of his suitors. No official approach has been made for the South Korean international, but anything can happen between now and the transfer deadline.

Club still needs firepower
Oh Hyeon-gyu is a similar striker to Jorgen Strand Larsen; both are tall players who are able to find the back of the net. Their height and physique match what the Whites were looking for when they recruited Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha.
| Season | Games | Goals |
|---|---|---|
| 2025/26 | 27 | 9 |
| 2024/25 | 38 | 9 |
| 2023/24 | 25 | 5 |
The last few games against Fulham and Everton have showed that the club need some firepower up front. The team dropped points on Monday night because Calvert-Lewin fluffed his lines in a crucial moment in the game. Leeds cannot solely rely on the former Everton man, which is probably why the 49ers want to add some reinforcements in attack.
