Leeds United recorded a very important win at home on Friday night against Burnley. Coming into the game, the team knew the stakes were high in their battle for survival.

Three points would mean that they opened the gap before any of their rivals played ahead of this weekend. There was pressure on the team, but they eventually delivered in front of the home crowd. A dominant 3-1 win was enough to see off an already relegated Burnley side.

After the game, Daniel Farke said the result was a ”massive” one for the club at this point of the season: ”Massive win for us today. Home game against an already relegated side. Was important to be balanced and not nervous. Fantastic goal from Anton. Our counter pressing was high but always nervous until you score second. At 3-0 the game was more or less done. Today was just important to get the three players.”

Spurs fans react to Leeds win over Burnley

Leeds winning has moved them up the table, and has pushed Newcastle United down into 15th place. And for Tottenham Hotspur, things are not great – the Whites now have a nine-point lead over the London club. Spurs fans have voiced their concern about Leeds’ win on Twitter/X.

”That’s Leeds safe #COYS” one fan posted.

Another fan added: ”Leeds just are so much better then us aren’t they”

This fan was doing the math that Spurs would need to survive: ”Imo, we need at least a draw to stand any chance regardless of the result for Wet Spam!! We still got some hard games left but I feel if we can scrape a draw minimum and somehow beat Leeds and Everton we will stay up!!”

Tottenham Hotspur are in serious trouble

Things are not looking great for Spurs, even though they managed win in their last game. They go into this weekend knowing that any potential slip up could dent their hopes of safety. West Ham also play this weekend, and them getting a result could further complicate things. It is quite unfortunate how things have gone for Tottenham Hotspur this season; changing coaches twice in one campaign will disrupt a lot. Now the team will have to focus on their final four games, going into each under pressure, knowing that a win is the only way to escape their predicament.
