Leeds United could not have ended their pre-season in the US better than they did on Sunday. They pulled off an incredible comeback to win their final game in Chicago.

Fans were not confident after Liverpool completely outplayed them in the first half, taking a 2-0 lead into the half time break.

Daniel Farke rang the changes, bringing on four substitutes in the second half. Brenden Aaronson came off the bench and scored the first goal to start the comeback, he also had an assist.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin also came off the bench to score a brace, with the second goal sealing the game at the death.

After the match, Farke spoke on what the team needs to do in the coming weeks.

“To keep going,” he said to LUFC media. “We are far away from staying not humble, from being over the moon or too big time anyhow.

“We know there is lots of work to do in building our fitness levels and building our flexibility that we want, building our squad and getting some key players back.

“The work is not done and all the others who are on a good path have to make sure that we go also then the next yards anyhow. If we stop right now and think, okay, everything is already prepared, it won’t be good enough. We have to keep going.”

Leeds United announcement teased

Fans will be wondering if the team will make any more signings before the start of the season.

Leeds United will target up to six more signings before the new season, per Sky sources. A goalkeeper, a backup goalkeeper, a fullback, a midfielder, an attacking midfielder who can play out wide and a striker are on the radar.

A deal that could be confirmed soon is James Trafford. The Manchester City star is yet to be confirmed by the Whites.

Bryn Law has said on LUTV that “An announcement is expected sometime in the next 72 hours”. While no name has been mentioned, everyone believes this will be Trafford.

Leeds have been putting the finishing touches on the deal, which is now expected to go through soon.

49ers need to push on more deals

Leeds United have been tight lipped when it comes to actual transfers in recent seasons.

They target players and convince them before they try to make a move to sign them. And this has worked in their favour for in the past, and they are not changing their policy anytime soon.

With just weeks to go before the start of the new season, the 49ers need to ramp up their attempts to sign new players.

James Trafford will be a huge addition when completed, but Daniel Farke needs a bit more if the club are to replicate their 14th place finish last year.
