When Karl Darlow turned down the chance to return to Elland Road with Leeds United, for a move to Old Trafford. The veteran made his decision to leave as a free agent.
This was what sparked most of the concerns at the club.
Darlow was in goal last season when Farke chose to bench new signing Lucas Perri. And now Leeds would have to find a new number one without the Welshman to rely on.
Perri ended last season on a bad note, after a few mistakes in the middle of the campaign.
Now, the 49ers are set to solve the club’s goalkeeping problems over the last few years with a major transfer.
Leeds United transfer to be confirmed this weekend
Leeds United have been pushing to secure a deal for James Trafford since last week.
The Whites got in contact with Manchester City and the England international over a deal recently. Trafford is said to be open to a move, and now details are being sorted out concerning the transfer.
News has emerged about the keeper’s potential transfer fee and wages.
But club sources have indicated that nothing has been confirmed, with Graham Smyth noting that big deals take time.
While Leeds United are anticipating an arrival, a transfer exit has been building for weeks. Lucas Perri is set to join Torino after agreeing personal terms with the Serie A side.
The Brazilian chose a move to Italy after being frustrated with being displaced as number one last year.
He will have a chance to redeem himself with Torino when he joins. Local newspaper La Stampa (relayed by Toro News) have stated that Perri could arrive as early as this weekend.
Torino “ready to welcome him” after ending their search for a new keeper.

What is going on with the James Trafford deal?
Initial reports suggested that there were talks between all parties over a deal.
Trafford is said to be open to leaving Manchester City for a chance at establishing himself in the Premier League.
A lot of discussions will be going on behind the scenes over wages, contract bonuses and other aspects of his final transfer fee. There was even talk about a release clause being included for ‘special’ circumstances.
Leeds and the 49ers have to make sure they are getting the best deal for themselves.
Club chairman Paraag Marathe has already noted that the team would have a logical approach to this window, and that is exactly what they are doing.
It would be nice of someone to just come out and say yes or no as to is the transfer going ahead or not !!!
