Leeds United beating Manchester United on Monday night now has huge implications at the bottom of the table. Daniel Farke’s side can breathe a bit easily now following this weekend’s results.
The Whites were the last team to play in this gameweek, and the pressure was on, but they delivered at Old Trafford. Leeds won their first game away to Manchester United for the first time since 2010.
The three points have now taken them six points clear of Tottenham who are now in 18th place. Nottingham Forest and West Ham also picked up crucial points in their battle for survival.
Jamie Carragher predicts Premier League relegation battle
As things stand, Spurs look like the team that will go down. Even after hiring Roberto de Zerbi, the problems still exist. They will have to pull off a miracle to beat Forest, West Ham and Leeds to survival. Jamie Carragher thinks the London side have ”No chance” of surviving this season.
“Normally, a new manager comes in and you say, ‘It’s his first game, that (their style of play) has to go out the window’,” the Ex-Liverpool man said on Sky Sports.
“It had to go out the window for Igor Tudor and it’s the same for Roberto de Zerbi because of where they find themselves.
“I can’t believe it. Tottenham look like they’re going to go down. The other teams have something going for them. One point in 24. You look at fixtures, you think that’s a good game for Tottenham but they’re awful.
“Do you think Tottenham will go to Wolves, bottom of the league, and win? No chance.”

Leeds United have a huge chance of survival
The win at Old Trafford will do wonders for Leeds United’s confidence; they will now head into their game against Wolves at Elland Road with optimism. Daniel Farke’s men have a tough fixture list down the line, including games against relegation rivals Spurs and West Ham. So if they are able to get maximum points from their first two games from the international break, they improve their odds of survival significantly. Tottenham are a team out of form, and their coach has a lot to do to adapt his team in the short amount of games left. Unless something drastic happens, they will be the last team to join Wolves and Burnley in the Championship next season.
