There has been no love lost whenever Manchester United and Leeds United meet. So when both sides met this past Sunday, fireworks were expected.
Michael Carrick’s side desperately needed a response after going five games without a win. Leeds were tipped to be the favourites, but they were also coming off of a defeat to Arsenal.
The game was calm in the first half hour before Man United shocked everyone and took the lead before halftime. Bryan Mbeumo gave the Red Devils the lead, which stunned the home crowd.
Leeds came out of the blocks flying in the second half, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring just six minutes after the break.
Unfortunately there was no winner as both sides failed to convert their chances.

The major talking point from the game was how Carrick’s side once again failed to win what was seen as a a very winnable game.
The pressure remains on Man United ahead of their next few matches.
Another unfortunate event from Sunday’s match was an incident involving a fan and Sir Alex Ferguson.
Per reports, when the 84-year old was leaving Elland Road, he was heckled by a fan.
Simon Jordan slammed the behaviour on talkSPORT, condemning the individual’s conduct: “He is a strong character, and he won’t take any notice of it.
“He is a statesman of the game, and of course, there is a massive rivalry between Leeds and Man United, but there is a line.
“It’s not that Ferguson can’t be criticised, but to suggest some twerp in the stand can say whatever he said is mindless.
“Leeds themselves will be disappointed and embarrassed.”

Fan has cast a bad light on Elland Road faithful
Sundays game should have been remembered for what happened on the pitch. Any chants or songs to rile up the opponents should not cross a certain line, and what happened there was an example of crossing the line.
It is very unfortunate that after a big clash between two Premier League sides, the major talking point was poor behavior by a fan.
The fact that it happened at Elland Road paints a bad picture of the fanbase and this will dominate the news cycle for a while.
Leeds supporters need to condemn what happened and make sure that they are only remembered for the great atmosphere they provide at their home stadium every other week.
