Leeds United look set to be playing in next season’s Premier League after a confident 3–1 win against Burnley at Elland Road on Friday night.

Anton Stach opened the scoring before half-time with a brilliant strike from distance, putting Leeds firmly in control.

Goals from Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin after the break wrapped up the points, leaving Burnley with only a late consolation to show for their efforts.

Leeds and their owners can now start planning for next season in earnest, as no club have been relegated from a 38-game Premier League season after scoring 43 points.

Stuart Dallas reveals a Paraag Marathe moment ahead of the game

The Leeds United legend has revealed that Paraag Marathe looked stressed when he spotted him ahead of the game, given its importance to Leeds’ season.

He also feels delighted for Daniel Farke and what he saw of him on the touchline as his team marched towards a huge win in their survival race.

Dallas said on Sky Sports: “It’s a huge win, and you can see the owner, Paraag Marathe, is a relieved man. We saw him before the game off-air, and he looked a bit stressed.

“I’ll tell you what, he doesn’t look stressed now, does he? He knows how big the win is.

“I think as the goals were going in, I was looking at Daniel Farke’s reaction on the sideline, and you could see how much it meant to him and the team.

“This is absolutely huge. I can look now and say it was never in doubt, but Leeds fans always have anxiety and question what if?

“But the boys were fantastic tonight, and we spoke about quick second-half goals to take the game away from Burnley, and they did just that, and it turned out comfortable in the end.”

The work for the 49ers starts now

With Leeds more or less securing Premier League survival with three games left in the season, Paraag Marathe and the management need to step up.

Supporters do not believe the owners did enough in the transfer market last summer, despite bringing in 10 new players, and Farke deserves huge credit for getting the best out of this squad.

However, they need to do more to back him in the upcoming window and ensure Leeds are doing a bit more than surviving in the Premier League next season.

Marathe has outlined some big plans for Leeds, but it is now on him to back his talk with serious investment into the squad.
