Leeds United are riding a high and are sitting at the summit of the Championship table after 32 games with 69 points. They have not conceded a goal in their last six league games and have dispatched some in-form teams with pomp in the last fortnight. They look likely to be one of the teams to earn automatic promotion with Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder tipping them to win the league. However, Leeds are well aware that the Championship is a notoriously unpredictable league and with games against Sunderland and Sheffield United to come, the Whites can’t relax even one bit.
The Whites have taken control of the promotion race and appear to have taken their game to the next level in the last couple of weeks with big results against Cardiff, Coventry and Watford.
Leeds United have a two-point lead over Sheffield United in second and have a five-point buffer over teams outside the automatic promotion spots at this stage of the campaign.
Leeds will play two massive games to close out February. They will be taking on Sunderland at Elland Road on Monday night before travelling to Sheffield United a week later.
Sunderland are unbeaten in eight in the Championship and beat Luton Town 2-0 at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday night to prepare for the big game against Leeds.
The Black Cats need a positive result to keep themselves afloat in the automatic promotion race and Enzo Le Fee has outlined their ambition ahead of the game.
We are coming for – Sunderland star delivers warning to Leeds United
Sunderland are five points behind Sheffield United and a whopping seven points the league leaders at this stage of the season. They are far better than the teams below them but have some catching up to do in the automatic promotion spots.
The Black Cats need a big result at Elland Road and even a draw is not good enough for them to close the gap to the top two spots in the Championship table.
Le Fee is excited about taking part in one of the biggest games of the season for Sunderland and indicated that to reach the top two spots, they need a big result at Elland Road.
The Sunderland star warned Leeds that they would be coming to Yorkshire next Monday with the full intent of walking away with all three points from Elland Road.
“Every player wants to play in the biggest games”, he told the club’s official website.
“If we want to be at the top of the league, we have to prepare well, and we have to go to Leeds for the win and take the three points away.”
Has Le Fee watched Leeds at Elland Road this season?
Leeds have not lost a league game at Elland Road since September when they suffered a defeat at the hands of Burnley. Since then, the Whites have been imperious at home.
The Yorkshire giants have been despatching away teams at home with pomp and are looking more or less unbeatable at Elland Road at this stage of the season.
Their away form has massively improved as well but at home, they look a different beast while being encouraged by the Elland Road faithful vociferously.
Sunderland and Leeds played out a 2-2 draw at the Stadium of Light earlier in the season and the Black Cats are very much a promotion contender this season.
Can you name these past and present Leeds United players?
It looks like a tough game on paper and Sunderland are coming with form behind them, which shows in the confidence Le Fee has in his team ahead of the trip.
However, Le Fee and his Sunderland teammates are in for a shock and as many teams have found out this season, Leeds are something else when they are at home.
The Sunderland star is in for a rude awakening if he believes his team can walk into Elland Road and walk out of it with three points in their bag on Monday night.

Big heads don’t win big games but big hearts do.
