Leeds United have often been tagged as ‘poor’ at selling players. And in recent seasons, the fanbase have complained about the club keeping some players longer than they should.
The 2023 summer spending spree brought a whole host of players to Elland Road.
And after the club were relegated, a lot of them found themselves a way out in the next 12 months.
This summer, Leeds had a long list of first team players to offload. The club are still currently finding ways to ‘clean house’ ahead of the new Premier League season.
Max Wober and Jack Harrison, two big earners, have now left. The Whites also get decent fees from Pascal Struijk and Isaac Schmidt.
A few more players will be heading out with just weeks till the end of the window.
Details emerge over recent Leeds United transfer deal
Hull City confirmed the signing of Joe Gelhardt from Leeds United on Saturday.
After spending most of the last two seasons with the Tigers, the forward has now joined them on a permanent deal.
Gelhardt was one of the players around the first team that fans expected to have been sold. He was out of favour under Farke until he got his breakthrough with the first loan away.
Regarding Joe Gelhardt fee, clarified this with additional source close to the deal given conflicting stories.
Told our original reporting of it being in the region of £4.5m plus add-ons is more accurate than the figure of £6.5m plus extras coming out of the Leeds end.#hcafc https://t.co/TM97z76Vcu

The deal for the forward was initially reported to be in excess of £6.5 million with add-ons by Leeds sources.
BBC Humberside Sports Editor Mike Whites has now disclosed the financial details of the transfer from Hull’s end.
Per his source, the deal is closer to £4.5 million with add-ons instead of the figure widely reported by the Whites’ sources. And in all this, Joe Gelhardt’s former club Wigan will pocket 20% via their sell-on clause.

49ers’ moves point to the next major arrival
Joe Gelhardt is gone, with the deal having been confirmed.
And as of Monday, Joel Piroe is set to leave Elland Road to join West Ham in the Championship.
Per sources, the striker is set for a medical after a deal has been agreed between both clubs.
With two forwards gone from the Leeds United first team, it is now very likely that the 49ers will be in the market for the striker in the coming weeks. Graham Smyth revealed early in the window the exact profile the club are after.
Leeds are said to be eyeing a ‘younger’ profile who can directly compete with Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the first team.
Good Luck to you Joffy. It’s a shame the Leeds managers other than Bielsa could not see what is there but that is their shame not yours……Now you have a chance to show them, go for it lad.
