Leeds United struck gold this summer when they were recruiting for the first team. Tarik Muharemovic has turned out to be one of the stars of the season.

Daniel Farke made it clear that the team needed reinforcements after surviving relegation and he got his request.

The Whites brought in James Trafford, Nico Elvedi, Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic among other signings.

Last year, the aim was budget signings with real quality but this season the approach shifted.

Leeds spent big money on signings like Trafford and Muharemovic.

So far the Bosnian has impressed this season and has even chipped in with some assists.

He has been an excellent addition to the backline following the departure of Pascal Struijk. Leeds United had to wrestle him away from European clubs in the summer.

In a chat with LUFC media, Muharemovic spoke about how it feels like to play at Elland Road.

“Amazing – I think it was the best atmosphere so far that I’ve seen,” he said. “I’ve obviously played in games that had a lot of atmosphere for Bosnia, but I can’t compare it because this was something really special. I felt the support. I felt how important this game is for the fans and for the whole club. I would just say I’m sad that we didn’t get all three points.

“Everyone who came really enjoyed it. I also have a friend here who plays an hour away from us [Admir Bristrić, Leicester City]. He came to visit me to see the game, and I asked him, “How was the atmosphere?’ He was like, ‘I don’t know what just happened,’ because he felt everything. It was so amazing, so good. The family loved it.”

The defender also said that his father ‘loves’ coming to the stadium to watch him play.

“My dad loves it, he comes to every game, every away game. I know the away fans saw him at Forest. In Italy he also went to all the home games and some of the away games, but I think this year he said he can’t miss any of the Premier League games. He’s really enjoying it, and he also knows that Premier League is the best league in the world.”

Special moment when a player buys into the Leeds project

When the 49ers took over, they had a plan for everything from hiring Farke to what kind of players they needed.

But the Leeds boss mentioned something when the club was promoted, that they would only sign players who bought into the project.

This is a mistake many clubs make and end up buying ‘mercenaries’ who will leave for the next big offer.

The Whites have done a great job getting players like Calvert-Lewin, Trafford and Muharemovic to buy into what they are doing now and in the future.
