Leeds United have finally sealed the signing of James Trafford from Manchester City. That move is the biggest for the 49ers in this transfer window.
The club have also added Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic earlier this summer.
This weekend saw the Whites play their first friendly game at Elland Road in pre-season. Farke’s men managed to record a 2-0 win over RB Liepzig, with the home side looking very sharp.
Goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha were enough to seal the game.
There was good news as Leeds defender Jaka Bijol returned to action in the game. However, Farke also revealed that Gabriel Gudmundsson could miss the start of the season with injury.
Leeds United man set for summer exit
Bijol’s absence in previous games meant that Sebastiaan Bornauw was involved in the pre-season games in the US.
The Belgian center back started at Elland Road on Saturday in the 2-0 win. His future has been uncertain since news emerged last week that HSV were keen on a move.
As of Monday, Hamburger Abendblatt (cited by Fussball Transfers) are reporting that a deal for Bornauw could be sealed ‘shortly’.
The German side have the Leeds United on their shortlist this summer. The report claims that the Bundesliga club are finalizing plans over a transfer for the 27-year old defender.
There is no word on the type of transfer, and if it is temporary or a permanent deal.
Bornauw had been linked with a move away from Elland Road in January, but a move never materialized.

Only one option works for Leeds and Bornauw
With this update, it is more than likely that Sebastiaan Bornauw joins HSV in this window.
The club are keen on signing a defender, and are impressed with his experience in the league. Bornauw’s former coach has already said that he is backing HSV to complete this transfer.
The Leeds star will no doubt be keen on playing more first team football.
Last season, he made 17 appearances in all competitions, clocking just over 700 minutes of football. But those appearances only came when the first choice defensive options were out injured.
At HSV, it is very likely he will be a starter, something he wanted back in January before a move was blocked.
However, the 49ers also need to have it in the back of their minds that losing Bornauw will mean they have to find a backup center back in this window.
