Leeds United are still looking to bring in another striker this summer as Daniel Farke looks to take some of the pressure off Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The former Everton forward enjoyed an excellent first season at Elland Road, scoring 14 league goals and playing a major role in Leeds securing Premier League survival. But his importance also highlighted a problem, with the team lacking another dependable source of goals whenever Calvert-Lewin struggled for form.
That makes another centre-forward one of Leeds’ priorities before the window closes. Farke wants someone who can compete with Calvert-Lewin for a starting spot, while also giving him the option of using the pair together.
Just as importantly, the new striker needs to be capable of leading the line when Calvert-Lewin is unavailable. Having that extra quality up front would give Farke more options and prevent Leeds from becoming too dependent on one player over a long Premier League season.

Leeds United have made an offer for a striker
Leeds United are still looking to add another goalkeeper alongside James Trafford and remain keen to strengthen their attacking midfield options before the transfer window closes.
However, a new striker is one of the club’s biggest priorities. Daniel Farke wants to ease the pressure on Dominic Calvert-Lewin ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season and give Leeds another reliable option up front.
The Whites have shown an interest in Burnley striker Zian Flemming, but they are also believed to have already made an offer for another forward as they explore their options.
According to Voetbal International, Leeds made an offer for Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda earlier in the summer transfer window,
The Dutch magazine has revealed that Fenerbahce have made a serious bid to sign the Japanese forward before the window closes in the next few weeks.
It remains to be seen whether Leeds revive their interest in Ueda, who is expected to leave Feyenoord this summer.
The Rotterdam club are prepared to sell a striker who scored 26 goals in all competitions and impressed at the World Cup.
What do Leeds need to do this summer?
The 49ers have made an impressive start to the summer, bringing in three quality additions in Harry Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic and James Trafford. But Leeds still have a fair bit of work to do.
They need another goalkeeper to provide cover for Trafford, with Alex Cairns currently viewed as the third-choice option. Nick Pope could be a potential target, particularly after he was left out of Newcastle’s pre-season game on Saturday.
Regardless of whether they land Ayase Ueda, Leeds simply have to add another striker. They cannot afford to go into a long Premier League season relying on Dominic Calvert-Lewin staying fit throughout the campaign.
Gabriel Gudmundsson’s injury has also exposed another weakness in the squad, leaving Leeds in need of additional cover at full-back.
