Leeds United won their first pre-season game at Elland Road this summer. They beat German side RB Leipzig by two goals.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha were the only scorers, as the home side cruised to a win and kept a clean sheet.
This has been the third win this summer for Daniel Farke’s side. They managed to win against Sunderland and Liverpool in the US, and have started their final round of games with a victory.
Farke will be pleased in how organized his side was as well as the performances of some players.
Leeds escaped any injury scares on Saturday, but they learnt the latest updates on some first team players.
Leeds United receive huge injury blow ahead of new season
After the win, Daniel Farke gave an update on Leeds United star Gabriel Gudmundsson.
The left back went off injured in the game against Liverpool in Chicago, and was not spotted in training this week. He told media that the injury was not as serious as feared.
Farke has now given a timeline on when Gudmundsson will be ready.
“Initial assessment is that he could be that he will miss the start of the Premier League season. So at the moment it’s realistic to speak about, overall with his injury, four weeks.
“First week is now nearly done. But it could easily be that he misses the first game, or perhaps the first two games. Of course, yeah, not great because especially on the wingback positions, it’s not like we have too many too many options.
“So you could guess a little bit which positions I would like to add out of my answer. But yeah, let’s see what happens. It’s definitely not good news.”

Gudmundsson’s injury could change transfer plans
Leeds United could be without their first choice left back for he start of the season.
The Whites kick off their campaign against Nottingham Forest in the next three weeks. As things stand, there is no natural left footed replacement for the Swedish international.
This was the same case last season.
James Justin could fill in, but as a right footer, he has some limitations on the opposite flank.
Sky sources believe a fullback is high on the list for Leeds as the transfer deadline approaches. Gudmundsson’s latest injury could accelerate plans for the club to find a backup in that position.
