Leeds United beat RB Leipzig 2-0 at Elland Road on Saturday, giving Daniel Farke another encouraging result as preparations for the new Premier League season continue. But behind the scenes, the club still have plenty of work to do to shape the squad.
Leeds have shown plenty of ambition in the transfer market. Harry Wilson arrived on a free transfer before the club spent £34m to sign Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo.
They then broke their transfer record again last week by bringing James Trafford in from Manchester City for £45m, with the England international expected to take over as Farke’s first-choice goalkeeper.
The investment in Wilson and the £79m spent on Muharemovic and Trafford underline Leeds’ ambitions this summer. However, the squad still needs trimming, with several players who are no longer part of Farke’s plans needing to be moved on before the window closes.

Leeds United need to trim the squad before the transfer window closes, with Daniel Farke still having several players who are not part of his plans.
The Whites are keen to bring in another striker, but Joel Piroe remains at Elland Road for now. Leeds are also open to offers for Wilfried Gnonto, who has fallen down the pecking order and is no longer considered a key player.
Largie Ramazani is another player the club would like to move on. The winger was left out of Leeds’ pre-season plans, but a permanent transfer has yet to materialise.
Valencia remain interested after Ramazani’s loan spell in Spain last season, but the two clubs have so far been unable to reach an agreement, with the Spanish side unwilling to meet Leeds’ asking price.
Ron Gourlay, the Spanish club’s CEO, has continued to hold talks with Ramazani, but Leeds have remained adamant on their demands.
According to Spanish journalist Nacho Sanchis, Leeds are still not interested in accepting a loan offer with a buy option.
The Whites are insisting on selling the forward, which has continued to delay his exit from Elland Road this summer.
Valencia are set to receive a cash boost soon from their owner. However, it is unclear whether they would invest money in buying Ramazani permanently before the end of the window.

Largie Ramazani’s future looks away from Leeds, with Daniel Farke deciding to leave him out of the club’s pre-season tour.
The Leeds boss rarely relied on the Belgian during their Championship campaign, and there is little to suggest his stance has changed. With Harry Wilson already through the door and Leeds still looking to strengthen on the left, Ramazani has no future at Elland Road.
His omission from pre-season has made it clear that Leeds are looking to move him on. That leaves the club with little leverage at the negotiating table, as Valencia and other interested parties know Leeds want to find a solution and could simply wait for the asking price to drop as the deadline approaches.
Leeds may therefore have to accept less than they originally wanted or consider another loan if they are to finally move Ramazani on this summer.
