Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United was a major point coming into this season. It was a heavily discussed topic at the end of last year.

After all the activity in the transfer window, Farke continued to downplay any news to the point of even avoiding questions over his future.

A few weeks ago, reports emerged that the German had parted ways with his representatives and that a deal would be clinched soon.

It has been weeks since then and there is no sign of a new deal. Many thought it would happen during the last international break, but were disappointed.

Leeds had a positive start to the year, which only boosted Farke’s stock, with fans backing him for a new deal.

But things have not gone well in the last couple of weeks; following the defeat to Bournemouth, the Whites are without a win since September. And there is a lot of noise coming from the fans. Some suggested that the club should slow down on a new deal given their form.

Football Finance expert Stefan Borson thinks it is ridiculous and that the 49ers have no plans to change their minds.

“No, I don’t think so. I think they’re playing OK from what I can gather. I wouldn’t think there’s going to be huge change there,” he said.

“Clearly, when you’re on a bad run like that, every game then becomes indicative of the trend. But they’re at home over the weekend.

“Spurs obviously could win and follow on the bounce, but it’s not impossible that Leeds can win the game. I think he’s well set.

“People are generally happy. There are some interesting things going on at Leeds. There’s no way they’re going to turn around.”

Is this blip enough to halt a new contract for Farke?

Daniel Farke’s future is and will be decided by the work he has done since he joined the club.

Three weeks of poor results will not be enough to change anything.

But if the club’s current form continues, there might be some hesitation on the owners’ part.
