Leeds United are gearing up for a key Premier League clash at home to Burnley on Friday night, looking to bounce back from their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea.

Daniel Farke and his squad will be keen to put that disappointment behind them quickly and produce a strong performance at Elland Road to round off the week on a positive note.

With 40 points already in the bag, often seen as the benchmark for survival, Leeds know that a win over Burnley would all but confirm their place in the Premier League next season.

However, they have received a fresh boost ahead of the big game on Friday night after Burnley decided to part ways with Scott Parker this morning.

Burnley part ways with Scott Parker ahead of Leeds trip

Scott Parker’s future at Burnley has been under the scanner since their relegation was confirmed last week, with several managers getting linked with the job.

There was an expectation that he would continue at Burnley at the end of the season before departing in the summer.

However, Burnley have confirmed that Parker has left the club through mutual consent with four games left in the Premier League season.

They have decided to part ways even before the end of the season, with caretaker manager Mike Jackson to take charge of the club until the end of the campaign.

Parker won promotion with Burnley last season, but his team never looked like a side that would be able to survive in the Premier League this term.

Leeds will now face a Burnley side on Monday who are manager-less and confirmed to go down to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Whites must get the job done on Friday night

Leeds United aren’t safe on paper just yet, but with only four games left, it would take an extraordinary collapse for them to be pulled back into the relegation battle.

Still, a win at home against Burnley would calm any remaining nerves and likely put Leeds out of Tottenham’s reach in the table.

A Supercomputer has already predicted Leeds to break their hoodoo against Burnley on Friday night, and this was before Parker’s sacking was confirmed.

There is now no reason for Leeds to turn up and get Premier League survival secured by beating a Burnley side without a manager and low on confidence.
