Before this season began, Leeds United were one of the clubs tipped to be relegated. Like the past few seasons in the top flight, the newly promoted clubs were not given a chance.
It has been a common occurrence for all the clubs that got promoted to go back down to the Championship at the end of the season. In Leeds’ case, nobody cared about them reaching 100 points in the league, or scoring 80 goals.
The Premier League is a different level of competition, as seen by how much promoted teams spend to improve just to have a chance of survival. The Whites brought in 10 new players to augment the team before a ball was even kicked. And in many ways, some may argue the injection of quality has helped improve the team.
Daniel Farke nominated for Premier League Manager of the Month
Leeds United have had a very mixed season; their first few months in the campaign were okay before their form fell off a cliff. But something changed from late November, with the Whites going on a long unbeaten run into the new year.
That run has set Leeds up really well into the final stages of the season. Since returning from the last international break, Leeds have won two and drawn one of their three league games. These results included a huge win away to Old Trafford against Manchester United, and a crucial draw away to Bournemouth who were on a 13-game unbeaten run. The Premier League have now named Daniel Farke as a nominee for Premier League Manager of the Month for April.
He is up against Nuno Espirito Santo, Pep Guardiola, Fabian Hurzeler, Andoni Iraola, Vitor Pereira and Arne Slot.

What does the future hold for the Leeds boss?
With four games to go, Leeds have not guaranteed their safety yet. But they face Burnley on Friday night, and Daniel Farke’s men must do their best in order to get a result. A win on Friday, and a slip up from Spurs or West Ham could do the trick for them. Which means the club must avoid complacency and go all out to win the game. But they must be wary of Burnley, who won the previous fixture at Turf Moor. The Whites will have a bit of an advantage as Scott Parker has been sacked as of Thursday morning.
