Leeds United cruised to a win over RB Leipzig at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon. The game was their first match of the summer played in their home ground.
After their pre-season training camp in the US, the team had some momentum in their legs.
They won all but one of their three matches in North America, only failing to beat Wrexham in their first game. Daniel Farke’s men beat Sunderland, and recorded a huge win over Liverpool in Chicago.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha were on the score sheet for the home side.
It looked like a very comfortable win, with Leeds in control of the match at every term. They looked organized, and most importantly very fit as the new season approaches.
Daniel Farke gives Leeds United transfer update after Leipzig win
Leeds United managed this win without their latest signing James Trafford.
The England keeper did not make the matchday squad after being officially confirmed this week. New boy Tarik Muharemovic was involved in the game, and impressed in defence.
After the match, Farke spoke about Muharemovic and Trafford, pointing to Leeds’ ‘youthful’ approach in this window.
“But also, we are fully convinced that he has the potential to be an outstanding goalkeeper for us in the history of Leeds United.
“We are convinced that he has all potential also to be perhaps on the mid and long term also England’s new number one, and for that we are very happy and delighted with this transfer.”
The German coach also dropped a huge hint that the club are not done with their transfer business just yet.
“Again, two players [including Tarik Muharemovic] who are still young, where we will give the necessary time – but on the other hand also want [them] to deliver as quickly as possible. We’re on a good path, but also convinced that our business is not done yet.”

Which other targets do the 49ers have lined up
Sky Sports revealed that the Whites have up to five more signings they would like to make before the transfer deadline.
The Premier League season starts in the next three weeks, and Leeds have only gotten three signings through the door. James Trafford, Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic remain the only arrivals.
But the report says a backup goalkeeper, a fullback, two midfielders and a striker are on the radar.
Fans will be hoping the 49ers are able to wrap up their business before the season starts.
