Leeds United wrapped up their pre-season preparations in front of their home crowd. They ended their summer friendlies with a unforgettable game on Saturday afternoon.
The Whites managed to put four goals past German side Augsburg with no reply.
The game was a true showcase of the quality Leeds have added in this window. James Trafford showed superb moments on the ball, Tarik Muharemovic scored an incredible acrobatic effort and Dominic Calvert-Lewin was as sharp as ever.
Leeds scored three goals in the first half, with Anton Stach opening the scoring after two minutes.
Muharemovic doubled the lead, before a lovely one-two between Calvert-Lewin and James Justin added the third before half-time.
Lukas Nmecha was on hand to seal the game in the second half.
Daniel Farke reacts to Leeds United win over Augsburg
The win on Saturday gave Leeds United fans the chance to enjoy their last game in the summer.
Despite the football on show and the impressive scoreline, Daniel Farke was not pleased with the result. Speaking in the post-match interview, he pointed out that the team could have played better.
“We can play better than today.”
“In the first half there were situations when our first touch was not tidy and a bit sloppy would be a bit too negative but not focused in possession and in transition moment could be a bit quicker and a bit more awareness.
“But I told the lads after in the dressing room I have to calm myself down a bit because it’s the fifth week of pre season this week after having the long trip in the US and this week with lots of travelling and also to Dublin.
“We were back home at three in the morning the next day and we had another tactical meeting and tactical training session so I put lots of input in the last week and you could perhaps that I had tried my players a lot during this week and they were not 100 per cent sharp and fresh so also a bit understandable that we were not perfect and not flawless.
“I always want us to be perfect and during the games I am sometimes a bit angry with the situation and I feel we can be even better.
“But to win this game 4-0 and to create even more chances and to have another clean sheet, it’s not too bad overall and definitely a good final game of pre season for us.”

Whites are ready for Nottingham Forest game
Next week, Farke’s side are away to Oliver Glasner and his Nottingham Forest team.
The Austrian has been blunt about his team’s pre-season preparations, saying that it will take them a while to get up to speed. Glasner was adamant that Forest may not be ‘ready’ for the opening game of the season.
Leeds on the other hand, look very sharp.
They have recorded some impressive results even though it was in friendly games.
Farke also looks to have settled on the lineup that he will use next week, with the current personnel constraints. Gabriel Gudmundsson and Wilfried Gnonto are both out and unlikely to play next weekend.
