Leeds United wrapped up their pre-season campaign in style with a huge win over Augsburg at Elland Road. Daniel Farke’s side have had an impressive run in the offseason.
They only lost one game against Wrexham in the US, but have been unbeaten since returning to the UK.
Fans have been pleased with impressive results against the likes of Sunderland, Manchester United and RB Liepzig.
Leeds started the game on Saturday afternoon on fire; scoring in the first two minutes after Anton Stach latched on to a pass from Brenden Aaronson. Tarik Muharemovic doubled the lead with an acrobatic effort and James Justin put the home side 3-0 up before half time.
The Whites only managed one goal in the second half, with Lukas Nmecha rounding out the scoring.
Latest on Leeds United transfer update
While the game was ongoing, Leeds United were working on transfers behind the scenes.
Early on Saturday, the departure of Joe Gelhardt was confirmed as the forward joined Premier League rivals Hull City.
Leeds had been working on a deal for Gladbach defender Nico Elvedi since Thursday. News emerged that the Whites had reached an agreement on personal terms with the defender.
Florian Plettenburg reported that the deal was done in the afternoon, with Elvedi set to leave for around £8 million.
Beren Cross and Seb Stafford-Bloor have provided an update on the situation.
Per their report, Leeds have reached an agreement in principle over a fee for the Swiss defender. The deal is said to be in the region of £6.8million and £8.55 million.

In the post match press conference, Daniel Farke admitted that something is ‘close’ and that a move could be completed in the next 24 to 48 hours.
The deal will depend on the future of Sebastiaan Bornauw.

Nico Elvedi joining Leeds United will depend on the future of Sebastiaan Bornauw.
The Belgian was in the matchday squad but was an unused substitute.
The report from The Athletic only claims that the door is now open for Bornauw to leave, and not that the defender has agreed to an exit.
But with the confidence in clinching an agreement for Elvedi, fans should know that the transfer is close to completion. The 29-year old played under the Leeds boss a few seasons ago, and Farke is credited for the interest in the move in the first place.
Hopefully Nico Elvedi can come in and be an upgrade at the back.
