Five games into the season and Leeds United fans are finding out a lot about their new signings. But Daniel Farke has been warned about one first team player going forward.

Almost every one of the club’s summer arrivals have made their debut.

Leeds brought in key players in the spine of the team for this campaign including James Trafford, Nico Elvedi, Tarik Muharemovic and Harry Wilson among others.

They key for this summer was to bring in players to upgrade on the quality in the side.

And looking at the start to this new season, some may argue that the transfer business has done just that.

Leeds United keeper Michael Zetterer had an unpleasant debut as he conceded six goals to Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The German and Melvin Bard started their first games on Wednesday. They are the latest to follow after Trafford, Wilson, Elvedi and Muharemovic all made their bows.

For the reputation he came in with this summer, Harry Wilson has had a slow start to the season.

The midfielder has just one assist and has failed to score so far. Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown has warned that Leeds should be wary of Wilson’s inconsistent spells.

“To be honest, it’s not a surprise that Wilson has had a slow start at Leeds,” Brown told Football Insider.

“He had a great season for Fulham last time out, probably the best of his career, but he’s always been a bit inconsistent and can go through spells where not much happens.

“It’s not a major issue, some players are like that, and he seems to be at his best when he’s confident and getting involved in everything.

“Sometimes it can take a while for that to click at a new club, and that can raise concerns for the fans, for the manager and for the player himself, but it won’t be a big problem.

“This is just how Wilson is, he can have quiet spells, but he can also go through spells where he’s scoring and assisting every week, so you have to take the rough with the smooth.”

Too early to give verdict on Harry Wilson

The season is just five games in, so this assessment of the new Leeds star is a bit premature.

Wilson is a very good player and even with his lack of productivity in these few games, he has shown a lot on the pitch. He had a disallowed goal and has already created some very good chances so far.

Off the ball he has shown why he fits into this Leeds side.

Maybe a few more games into the season will be enough for him to fully adapt to his new club.
