Leeds United have a big game under the lights on Monday night when they host Newcastle United at Elland Road in the Premier League.
With the 6-3 defeat at Chelsea behind them, Leeds will look to bounce back and keep their unbeaten start to the league going when they play Newcastle on Monday night.
Leeds have made a strong start to the Premier League season and will hope that their EFL Cup disaster at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night will have no impact on the team.
Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle has already admitted that he expects a tough game on the road on Monday night, and Alan Shearer has provided his thoughts on what to expect.

Alan Shearer makes big prediction for the game
The Newcastle legend expects the Magpies to have plenty of support at Elland Road on Monday, with the relatively short trip from the North East likely to bring a sizeable away following.
Shearer is also anticipating a hostile atmosphere under the lights, with the Leeds supporters expected to make life uncomfortable for Newcastle and turn the stadium into a real cauldron.
Despite that, the former striker is backing his old side to come out on top. Shearer believes Newcastle can hand Leeds their first defeat of the season and continue their encouraging start to the campaign.
Shearer said on Metro: “It’s always a ferocious atmosphere at Elland Road. It’s only down the road, really- an hour and a half down the road from Newcastle, so there’ll be thousands of fans travelling down there.
“Elland Road’s a great atmosphere.
“I’m going to go for a Newcastle away win, and I hope the boys can keep this good run going.”

Leeds United’s recent record against Newcastle isn’t great
Newcastle came out on top the last time these two sides met in the Premier League, edging Leeds 4-3 in a thrilling encounter at St James’ Park last season.
Harvey Barnes was the star of the show for the hosts, finding the net twice, while Joelinton and Bruno Guimarães also got on the scoresheet. Brenden Aaronson scored twice for Leeds, but his efforts were not enough to earn the Whites anything from the game.
The recent head-to-head record also favours Newcastle, who have avoided defeat in their last six Premier League meetings with Leeds. The Whites have not beaten the Magpies in the league since January 2021, leaving Monday’s clash as an opportunity to finally end that unwanted run.
Across those six games, Newcastle have also had the edge in front of goal, scoring eight times compared with Leeds’ six.
