Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Leeds United beat Brighton 1-0 at Elland Road earlier today.

In their final home game of the season, Leeds gave the supporters the perfect send-off, with Calvert-Lewin’s late goal ensuring the fans headed home celebrating.

Karl Darlow also played a huge part in the win after producing an outstanding first-half save that even Peter Schmeichel was left amazed by. The mood was dampened somewhat in the second half, though, when Anton Stach had to be stretchered off following a leg injury.

Stach’s injury was the only dark spot in an otherwise brilliant day for Leeds at home, and there are now real worries that he could potentially miss the World Cup.

Daniel Farke provides an update on Anton Stach

Stach’s socks were bloodied, and the injury looked serious enough for everyone to feel concerned about the midfielder ahead of the end of the season.

He looks almost certain to miss the final game against West Ham next weekend. However, the bigger worry for the player is that it could end his World Cup dream.

Daniel Farke didn’t sound too confident when he was updating the injury status of the German midfielder and what happened that led to the injury.

He stressed that any further updates can only be provided once the medical team takes a closer look at the injury and further scans are carried out in the coming days.

Farke told Sky Sports: “We have to assess him. Someone fell on his knee or ankle.

“He couldn’t carry on.”

He may miss the World Cup

Anton Stach has had a brilliant first season in the Premier League and worked extremely hard to get back into the Germany squad just ahead of the World Cup.

He was fully expected to be in the scheme of things for the summer tournament before he suffered the injury today against Brighton.

Now his World Cup dreams hang in the balance as the Leeds medical takes a look at the extent of the injury and the damage it has caused.

With the tournament just weeks away, any major injury is almost certain to end Stach’s dreams of playing for Germany in the World Cup.
