With the transfer window over at Leeds United, Daniel Farke’s future is now the topic of discussion again. The club have done a decent job overall in the summer window.

The team was able to offload a number of players who were not in their plans for this season.

Leeds managed to get rid of big contracts like Jack Harrison and Max Wober. Players like Largie Ramazani, Isaac Schmidt and Joe Gelhardt, who were surplus to requirements, were also moved on.

Wilfried Gnonto and Joel Piroe were allowed to leave on loan, with Farke not being able to promise them playing time.

Leeds added serious quality in the same window, bringing in the likes of Trafford, Muharemovic and Wilson. The squad also got a boost in depth with the arrivals of Michael Zetterer, Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya in the final weeks.

The past few weeks have seen Leeds United engaged with making transfers ahead of the deadline.

During that time, Daniel Farke was asked about his future at Elland Road, but successfully managed to sidestep the questions during press conferences.

Farke’s future at the club has been a topic of discussion ever since the final game of last season. In the final weeks, the Leeds boss spoke about the club matching his ambition if he wants to stay.

And with how the window has panned out, it looks obvious that a decision could be made in the coming months.

According to Football Insider, Daniel Farke could be set for a new contract at Leeds United with the transfer window now over. Both parties could hold talks over details in the near future.

Right decision by the 49ers

Giving Daniel Farke a new contract is going to be the best decision the club have made in recent years.

He took over three years ago and in that time, has managed to win promotion and kept the team afloat in the Premier League.

Not many coaches across the league can do the job he has done with this club, and he needs to be rewarded. Farke’s current contract at Elland Road runs out next summer.

And with the ambition of the ownership for the future, keeping the German on board is the right decision.

Fans will also agree with the decision to keep one of their best coaches in recent years.

Farke has been a loyal servant to the club and to a board that hasn’t, if we’re being honest, done all they need to do to help Farke achieve PL survival. That lack of support is still evident, with promises being made and not kept in every one of the last three windows, but Farke has stuck to his task when others might have walked away. He fully deserves a new contract and hopefully less talk and more action by Marathe and Co
