Fabrizio Romano confirms Leeds United’s £34m agreement is imminent

The 49ers have sprung into action after Leeds United sold Pascal Struijk. The dutch defender was an important part of the team last season, and losing him was a big disappointment.

But fans were given hope by club chief Paraag Marathe, who said the ownership would invest on the pitch.

Replacing Struijk would be a difficult thing considering how integral he was last season. Looking at the market, finding a replacement of that quality would be difficult.

However, the recruitment team have showed since last season that they are good at what they do.

When Jaka Bijol came in, no one expected much. But the Slovenian grew into the team and became an unstoppable force.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Leeds United move

Leeds United have gone back to Italy, as they are about to land a replacement for Struijk.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the Whites are set to agree a deal to sign Tarek Muharemovic from Sassuolo. The Bosnian defender showed his quality at the World Cup where his country made the Round of 32.

He fits the physical profile of Leeds’ signings from last season – Muharemovic has the height and physical profile to fit the Premier League.

Earlier reports have indicated that the fee for the centerback could be in the region of £34 million.

Juventus have a sell-on clause for the 23-year old.

Italian journalist Luca Cerchione has also revealed that the Whites beat Sunderland and Bournemouth to the signing of the Bosnian international.

49ers showing serious ambition this summer

Leeds landed the signing of Harry Wilson ahead of big clubs like Everton and Aston Villa.

They were able to get a Premier League quality player of his calibre on a free transfer. Wilson will be a solid addition to this team and is arguably an upgrade on the attacking options they had last season.

And now the 49ers are about to close the signing of Tarek Muharemovic.

Just like with Jaka Bijol, Leeds have been able to acquire one of the top defenders from a highly-rated league in Europe. Last season saw the club sign many players on modest fees, but it looks like the ownership are going all out.

That is what they have to do in order to keep themselves competitive in the Premier League.

There are many weeks left to go in the summer window, but if this is how the 49ers have started, then fans should be very excited.
